A recent study published by the Brookings Institution looked at vanishing middle-class neighborhoods in many metropolitan areas across the country. Wayne State demographer and the study's lead author, Jason C. Booza, sees a gloomy picture in these income breakdowns. "We're always shocked by how much the middle class has declined.
